Past, Present, Future…

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 5:1‭-‬2 KJV

A beautiful couple of verses indeed, summing up the doctrine of salvation very nicely.

Three points:

1) Paul looks back to the time when we believers received God’s forgiveness in Christ.
2) He carefully considers the present blessing, “this grace in wherein we stand.”
3) He looks forward to the time when, sin and death being destroyed, he will enjoy the vision in all its glory: “…rejoice in the Glory of God.”

Our Lord and Savior did what needed to be done, that man couldn’t do for himself, and it never need be done again, Hallelujah!

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live;
yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
Galatians 2:20‭-‬21 KJV
