But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
2 Corinthians 11:3 KJV
Are you sure that you’re saved and going to heaven? It’s a question that troubles many Christians today because there are so many false heretics out there, corrupting the word of God. We must turn to the scriptures for the answer because Paul warns us clearly:
In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
Romans 2:16 KJV
Here we see Paul warning us that in the end, God will judge all men according to his gospel.
Keep in mind that this gospel came not from mere men, but from Jesus Christ himself, as we read here:
But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Galatians 1:11-12 KJV
Next logical question, ‘What is the Gospel!?’ Again, what do the scriptures say:
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV
Praise be to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for making it so clear at to what it takes to be saved! We know that God is not the author of confusion, so this shouldn’t surprise us, but we should take heed to be extra thankful for this fine detail. Now, back to the scriptures:
But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe:
for there is no difference:
for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood,
to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness:
that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works?
Nay: but by the law of faith.
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles?
Yes, of the Gentiles also:
seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
Do we then make void the law through faith?
God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Romans 3:21-31 KJV
So, back to the question… are you sure you’re saved?
Have you trusted in the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross for the remission of sins?
You must change your mind about trusting yourself for salvation, and put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ’ finished work on the cross, and accept the free gift of salvation:
For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God:
not of works,
lest any man should boast.
Ephesians 2:8 KJV
You must humble yourself, as the Holy scriptures say:
Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Submit yourselves therefore to God.
Resist the devil,
and he will flee from you.
James 4:6-7 KJV
